Rob Healy was born in Halandri, Greece to a displaced oil company executive and a British homemaker. During Healy's early life, he enjoyed exposure to his mother's record collection: A pastiche of British Invasion acts, divas and crooners. Supplementing the more "western" music was Greek radio with its bouzouki led melodies and traditional 7/8 and 9/8 rhythms.
The family made their final relocation to The United States while Rob was still young. Kids in his neighborhood turned Rob onto KISS, ZZ Top, U2, Judas Priest and Aerosmith. These bands became the primary force behind Rob picking up saxophone and eventually guitar.
Involvement with school concert bands, music coursework along with a few requisite high school rock bands enabled Rob to bolster his musical accumen from an arranging and performance standpoint.
Rob went on to attend Berklee College of Music where he exploited the school's MIDI production labs. This ultimately led to the electronic direction of Rob's projects as of late.
After leaving Berklee, Rob rolled out tune after tune all in the idioms of breakbeat and drum and bass. Things were on the up and up in 1999 when he was asked to play a Live PA at Liquid Sky's monthly gathering "OSSOM".
Years have come and gone and Rob still maintains countrocula.com as a home base for his audio wares and as a spot for musicians to download free production resources.
2005 sees the Count still steady at the helm of the anthrophone. collective. The collective is comprised of some of the finest electronic musicians from around the globe and endeavors to promote their music while providing fans in-depth info and musicians with production goodies. Check out anthrophone. if you'd like to get turned on to a bunch of fantastic musicians.
